ALSO OUR FRIENDS FROM CROSSFADER HAD A FEW EXTRA TIPS, HERE'S WHAT THEY ARE.....

Hey! How's it going, everyone? I hope you're all doing well!
It's been a busy start to the year here at Crossfader! I'm currently in the process of renovating our studio to bring some fresh new content and level up our videos!

We're creating two new sets within our studio. A brand new podcast set so Jamie, Lawrence & I don't have to be huddled around a little standing table anymore 😂

The second set will be a brand new club set-up; think industrial, dark, shipping container vibes. It's going to look amazing. Here's a mood board of what you can expect to see...

The Crucial Role of DJ Friendships in the DJ Industry.
In the world of DJing, I cannot stress enough the importance of friendship among DJs. While it may seem like a competitive industry, relationships with other DJs are the key to mutual growth, inspiration, and a thriving music community. If you want to have a successful career, this is not just beneficial but essential for your journey in the DJ industry.

Collective Creativity: 🔗

When DJs come together as friends rather than competitors, creativity thrives. Friendships among DJs create an environment where ideas flow freely, collaborations are born, and innovative mixes take centre stage. Take the act of sharing new music; for example, every DJ should be DJing out of a genuine love for music, so why not extend that love by sharing it with others?
I understand that some DJs might want to keep tracks for themselves and not share everything, but a good DJ isn't just defined by the tracks they play but how they play them. Just because you have the better tracks doesn't necessarily make you the better DJ. Share those tracks with your DJ friends; you might find some real gems in return!

Learning and Skill Development: 🎓

Any successful DJ will know that learning is a continuous process, and having DJ friends can accelerate skill development. Whether it's sharing mixing techniques, discussing the latest equipment, or exchanging insights on music trends, DJ friendships provide a valuable learning platform. Each DJ brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the table, creating an environment where everyone has something to teach and something to learn. The day you stop learning is the day you stop growing!

Emotional Support in a Challenging Industry: 💪

To work in the music industry is a gift, but it comes with its highs and lows and it can be emotionally taxing. Having fellow DJs as friends provides a support system that understands the challenges of the profession. From navigating the uncertainties of gigs to dealing with a bad night, whether it was a bad crowd, bad performance, or no one showing up to the event, DJ friends offer a listening ear, advice, and encouragement.
A bunch of DJ friends and I used to meet up a couple of times a week at 4 am just after we'd finished playing at separate clubs, grab some food and talk. It was always nice to chat about relatable situations. Plus, finding someone to talk to in those unsociable hours is pretty difficult for most people!

Networking Opportunities: 👀

Friendships among DJs extend beyond personal connections to professional networking opportunities. DJs often collaborate on events, share gig referrals, and recommend each other for various opportunities. The strength of these connections lies in the mutual understanding of the industry, creating a network that goes beyond competition and opens doors to new possibilities.
