The following are levels of material we would be covering during the 4 week course.


Level 1 (week 1):

1. Introduction to DJing: Understand the basics of DJing, the equipment involved, and the role of a DJ in various settings.

2. Music Theory and Analysis: Learn the fundamentals of music theory, beatmatching, phrase mixing, and song structure.

3. DJ Equipment and Setup: Familiarize yourself with different types of DJ equipment, their functionalities, and how to set them up properly.

4. Mixing Techniques: Practice blending and transitioning between tracks seamlessly, using basic mixing techniques.

Level 2 (week 2):

1. Advanced Beatmatching and Phrase Mixing: Master beatmatching and learn how to create seamless transitions by mixing tracks by phrase.

2. Effects and EQ: Understand the different types of effects and EQ techniques used in DJing and learn how to apply them effectively.

3. Introduction to Digital DJing: Introduce digital DJ platforms and software, teach participants how to use them, and explore advanced features.

4. Recording and Editing Mixes: Learn how to record and edit mixes, adding effects, loops, and mastering techniques to enhance the quality.

Level 3 (week 3):

1. Advanced Mixing Techniques: Dive deeper into mixing techniques like harmonic mixing, acapella mixing, mashups, and quick cuts.

2. Genre Exploration and Music Selection: Study various music genres and understand how to curate sets based on different environments and audiences.

3. Performance Skills and Crowd Reading: Develop essential DJ performance skills, such as reading the crowd, building and sustaining energy, and interacting with the audience.

4. Live Performance and Equipment Maintenance: Practice performing live sets, handling technical issues, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring proper maintenance.

Level 4 (week4):

1. Advanced Scratching Techniques: Explore the art of scratching, mastering various scratch techniques, and incorporating them into DJ sets.

2. Music Production Basics: Introduce participants to the basics of music production, including creating beats and remixing tracks.

3. Building a DJ Brand and Marketing: Explores strategies for building a personal brand, creating an online presence, and marketing oneself as a DJ.

4. Final Performance and Evaluation: Showcase the skills acquired throughout the workshop in a final performance, followed by individual feedback and evaluation.

This breakdown allows participants to progressively learn and practice essential DJ skills and techniques over a three-month period, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of DJ sound engineering.
